Tomorrow's agriculture is being prepared today in the laboratories. AMF Group invests in research and development to offer innovative plant solutions, adapted to the Algerian climate and the challenges of drought.

Plant biotechnologies, far from being a distant technology, are already at work in our facilities.

The in vitro culture laboratory

Our in vitro culture laboratory produces healthy plants in large numbers from plant fragments under sterile conditions. This technique offers decisive advantages over traditional multiplication.

  • Production of healthy, homogeneous plants, free of disease
  • Rapid multiplication of selected varieties
  • Year-round availability, regardless of the season
  • Conservation of genetic diversity

Solutions adapted to the Algerian climate

Our research programs focus on the argan tree, the pistachio tree and other strategic species. The objective: to select varieties more resistant to drought, salinity and disease, capable of producing sustainably under the conditions of southern Algeria.

Mycorrhization, a major asset

In partnership with the CRBt, we have developed mycorrhized substrates that improve the root symbiosis of plants. Result: better drought resistance and water needs reduced by up to 30 %.

« Innovation is not a luxury: it is our concrete response to Algeria's climate constraints. »

Conclusion

At AMF Group, R&D is not an isolated department: it irrigates the entire value chain, from the nursery to the production perimeters. It is our bet on a resilient and high-performing Algerian agriculture.
