A fruit tree suited to arid climates
Native to Asia, the jujube produces edible fruits rich in vitamins, eaten fresh or dried. Its deep rooting and tolerance to extreme heat make it particularly well suited to the Saharan and pre-Saharan regions of Algeria.
A developing crop at AMF
The jujube is part of our agricultural development programmes. As an example, a first plantation of 10 hectares is in place at El Menia within a wider perimeter, and other projects are under study.
As with all our crops, the plants are produced at our Rouiba complex and supported by controlled irrigation and regular agronomic monitoring.
