Contact usThe argan tree (Argania spinosa) is an endemic species of the Maghreb and a symbol of farming that thrives in arid climates. AMF Group is developing large argan plantations across Algeria, using quality plants grown at its Rouiba complex.
An endemic and resilient species
An evergreen tree with a deep root system, the argan tree adapts to poor soils and tolerates extreme temperatures. Its fruit produces a highly regarded oil used in food and cosmetics, while its wood and foliage provide valuable protection against erosion.
Our plantations in Algeria
AMF Group is supporting the revival of the argan sector in several wilayas. As an example, our plantations today cover:
- M'Sila (M'Sif): 170 hectares, or more than 21,000 plants delivered
- Tlemcen: 100 hectares
- Mostaganem: 50 hectares
- Chlef: 50 hectares
In total, more than 200,000 argan trees have been developed with our partners, and other plantations are under way for which data has not yet been published.
Plants produced in Rouiba
Our argan plants are grown at the Rouiba complex, using a mycorrhized substrate developed in partnership with CRBt. This natural root symbiosis improves drought resistance and reduces water requirements. Our planting contracts include a two-year guarantee with on-site technical monitoring.
From nursery to production, we support every project turnkey: soil preparation, planting, irrigation and agronomic follow-up.
